what is…thimble+twine!?

thimble+twine was created by a pair of superduper really good buddies in feb 2009 from college who wanted to do a little more in life other than corporate drudgery.  both LOVE weddings and both LOVE to make stuff!  one planned and the other doodled.  so why not explore these two loves =) and share it with others?  with the new trend of a creative stylist+planner, we dream of opening a business that provides creative concepts, styling, planning, invitations, floral, wedding cake design, etc~  and SO! we created this here blog to empty the floating ideas that keep filling up our crafty hearts and minds.  we hope that it’ll inspire you as it does us x]

why thimble+twine??

we really needed a name and tried to combine every two words in the dictionary beginning with the same letter.  just kidding =).  really, we found that thimble+twine represents a couple of things that are really important to us.  first off, we really want our company to capture how we as individuals love to craft, sew, knit, draw..pretty much put random things together to get something beautiful out of it.  we also love thimbles and twine (and boxes that we wrap twine with).  lastly, thimble is an item that protects (your finger!) and that is exactly what your partner agrees to do when they marry you and twine represents the interlocking of marriage and love.  yes its a little corny but appropriate oui?

and that is how we made our name.  it was either that or “get hitched now!”
